If you play live tournaments in the UK, October is the month to keep your diary clear. Grosvenor Poker has five events lined up across four cities, and the Main Event guarantees alone add up to £700,000. There’s something at almost every price point, from a £40 side event in Blackpool to a £2,000 High Roller at The Vic.
This guide breaks down each stop, what it costs, how the structures play, and which one makes the most sense for your bankroll.
October 2026 at a glance
| Event | Venue | Dates | Main Event | Guarantee |
| 888LIVE London | The Victoria Casino, London | Oct 8–18 | £1,250 | £250,000 |
| G300 Round 9 | Grosvenor Manchester (BNR) | Oct 20–25 | £300 | £100,000 |
| G200 Round 12 | Grosvenor Casino Newcastle | Oct 20–25 | £200 | £50,000 |
| G200 Round 12 | Casino Portsmouth, Gunwharf Quays | Oct 20–25 | £200 | £50,000 |
| GUKPT Blackpool (Leg 8) | Grosvenor Casino Blackpool | Oct 29 – Nov 8 | £1,250 | £250,000 |
888LIVE London: the month’s biggest stop
The action starts at the Victoria Casino, better known to UK players as The Vic, from October 8 to 18. You may notice a new name on the posters. The tour that used to be called 888poker LIVE now runs simply as 888LIVE. The poker is the same; only the branding has changed.
The £1,250 Main Event carries a £250,000 guarantee. Day 1 flights begin on Thursday, October 15, with three chances to enter before Day 2 on Saturday and the final on Sunday, October 18.
Will the guarantee be met?
Last year’s numbers say yes, comfortably. The 2025 Main Event drew 367 entries and built a £383,500 prize pool, roughly 53% above this year’s guarantee. Gang Wang took the title and £86,600 after beating Calogero Morreale heads-up. Based on last year’s prize pool per entry, the event needs only around 240 entries to reach £250,000.
Side events worth knowing
• £500 Crazy 8 – opens the festival with £100,000 guaranteed and 888’s signature format.
• £340 Mini Main – also £100,000 guaranteed, and the best value way in for most recreational players.
• £2,000 High Roller – a six-figure guarantee for stronger regulars.
• £550 Big Shot, The Dragon, PLO events, satellites and a charity tournament – fill out the 11-day schedule.
Practical tip: if you’re coming from outside London, the Mini Main and Main Event fall in the second week. Arriving on October 14 lets you play both without paying for hotel nights you don’t need.
G300 Manchester: more play for £300
Just two days after 888LIVE ends, the G300 lands at Grosvenor’s Manchester BNR card room for Round 9 of its first season. The series launched in 2026 with a simple idea: give players a deeper tournament at a price most people can afford. The buy-in is £260 + £40, and the guarantee is £100,000.
Everyone starts with 40,000 chips, and live flights run on 30-minute levels. That’s a genuinely playable structure for a £300 event. You’ll have time to wait for good spots instead of shoving every other orbit.
| Day | Time | Flight | Buy-in |
| Tuesday | 6 p.m. | Satellite (10 seats GTD) | £50 + £10 |
| Wednesday | 6 p.m. | Satellite (10 seats GTD) | £50 + £10 |
| Wednesday | 8:30 p.m. | Day 1 Online | £260 + £40 |
| Thursday | 6 p.m. | Day 1A | £260 + £40 |
| Friday | 6 p.m. | Day 1B | £260 + £40 |
| Saturday | 12 p.m. | Day 1C | £260 + £40 |
| Saturday | 6 p.m. | Day 1D | £260 + £40 |
| Sunday | 11 a.m. | Day 1E Turbo | £260 + £40 |
| Sunday | 4 p.m. | Day 2 (to a winner) | — |
The online Day 1 is the standout feature. You can play your first bullet from home on Wednesday night. If you bag, you only need to travel to Manchester for Sunday’s Day 2. If you don’t, you still have four live flights left.
G200 double header: Newcastle and Portsmouth
At the same time as Manchester, the G200 runs Round 12 at two venues at once: Grosvenor Casino Newcastle and Casino Portsmouth at Gunwharf Quays. Entry is £175 + £25, and each event guarantees £50,000.
With Manchester included, that’s £200,000 in guarantees across three cities in one six-day window. For players in the north-east or along the south coast, it’s serious tournament poker without a long trip.
GUKPT Blackpool: Leg 8 of the tour’s 20th season
The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour began in 2007, and 2026 is its 20th season. Leg 8 takes over Grosvenor Casino Blackpool, on the Promenade, from October 29 to November 8.
The Main Event costs £1,250 (£1,100 + £150) and guarantees £250,000. That’s a step up on last year, when Kostas Patsourakis won £67,990 from a 279-entry field and a £289,550 prize pool. It was his second GUKPT Main Event title.
| Date | Event | Buy-in |
| Fri, Oct 30 | GUKPT Warm Up | £110 |
| Sat, Oct 31 | Kav Cup | £40 |
| Sat, Oct 31 | Cash Game Giveaway Night | Free |
| Sun, Nov 1 | Mini Main (Day 1A and 1B) | £220 |
| Wed, Nov 4 | NLH High Roller starts | £1,350 |
| Thu, Nov 5 | Main Event Day 1A | £1,250 |
| Fri, Nov 6 | Main Event Day 1B and Day 1C Turbo | £1,250 |
| Sat, Nov 7 | Main Event Day 2 + GUKPT Cup | — / £500 |
| Sun, Nov 8 | Main Event final day | — |
Other events include a £900 PLO High Roller, a Deepstack, a Last Chance and a Closer. If your budget is tight, look out for the £125 Main Event target-cashout satellites that run during the festival.
Blackpool also leads into the season finale. The GUKPT Grand Final returns to The Vic from November 19 to 29, with a £2,000 Main Event and a £500,000 guarantee.
Comparing value: fees and break-even fields
Guarantees grab attention, but the fee you pay and the field needed to cover the guarantee tell you more about value. Here’s a simple comparison using each event’s published buy-in split.
| Event | Total buy-in | Fee | Fee % | Entries to cover GTD* |
| G200 | £200 | £25 | 12.5% | ~286 |
| G300 | £300 | £40 | 13.3% | ~385 |
| GUKPT Blackpool Main | £1,250 | £150 | 12.0% | ~228 |
*Approximate: guarantee divided by the prize-pool portion of the buy-in. Re-entries count as entries.
The GUKPT Main has the lowest fee percentage of the three, and it needs fewer entries to clear its guarantee than it drew last year. The G300’s higher fee buys a longer structure, which matters more than a percentage point if you’re the better player at your table.
Which October event should you play?
• Newer to live poker: a G200 or the £110 Blackpool Warm Up. Low cost, friendly fields, and you learn how a live tournament runs.
• Recreational player with a £300–£500 budget: the G300, especially the online flight, or the £340 Mini Main at 888LIVE.
• Regular chasing a big score: the 888LIVE Main Event or the GUKPT Blackpool Main. Both offer £250,000 guaranteed for £1,250.
• High-stakes players: the £2,000 High Roller at The Vic or the £1,350 High Roller in Blackpool.
Qualifying online
You don’t have to pay full price. Grosvenor Poker runs online satellites into its live events, and the G300 even offers a full online Day 1. Live satellites at each venue are another route. If your bankroll is below the buy-in, satellites are the smartest way to play these events without over-stretching.
