The Poker Night 2 game is one of the most loved oddities in Telltale poker history: a full Texas Hold’em and Omaha simulator where you sit across the felt from Claptrap, Ash Williams, Brock Samson and Sam, while GLaDOS deals the cards. It was pulled from sale in 2018, but fans still search for it every month. In 2026 the series is back in the spotlight, thanks to a brand-new remaster of the original Poker Night at the Inventory.
This guide covers what Poker Night 2 is, how its unlocks and bounties work, and every way you can still play Poker Night today.

What is Poker Night 2?
Poker Night 2 is the 2013 sequel to Telltale’s Poker Night at the Inventory. As in the first game, you play as a silent guest in The Inventory, a secret members-only club, against four famous characters from games, film and TV.
Each player starts with $20,000, double the $10,000 stacks of the original, and the goal is to bust everyone else. Poker Night 2 also added Omaha Hold’em alongside Texas Hold’em, making it a bigger and deeper game than its predecessor.
The real star is the dialogue. The characters trade jokes, insults and stories throughout every hand, and they even tease you for never saying a word.
The cast
• Sam from Sam & Max, with Max helping out from the sidelines.
• Brock Samson from The Venture Bros., voiced by Patrick Warburton.
• Ash Williams from the Evil Dead films.
• Claptrap from Borderlands.
• GLaDOS from Portal as the dealer, voiced by Ellen McLain.
• Reginald Van Winslow from Tales of Monkey Island as the host, plus cameos from Borderlands and The Walking Dead characters.
Poker Night 2 unlocks and bounties explained
Poker Night 2 rewards you for playing well with two kinds of unlocks.
Cosmetic unlocks: cards, chips and tables
You can unlock new card designs, chip sets and table styles as you play. Here’s the clever part: if you use cards, chips and a table that all share the same theme, the Inventory itself changes to match, and the characters get new lines of conversation about it. Matching themed sets is the best way to hear dialogue you’d otherwise miss.
Bounty unlocks
Bounty Unlocks are earned by completing specific goals during tournaments. Depending on your platform, they unlocked bonus content for other games:
| Platform | Bounty rewards |
| Steam (PC/Mac) | Borderlands 2 content and Team Fortress 2 items |
| Xbox 360 | Borderlands 2 content and Xbox Avatar items |
| PlayStation 3 | Borderlands 2 content and PS3 themes |
These cross-game rewards were a big reason the Poker Night series became so popular. The first game won over a huge Team Fortress 2 audience with exclusive TF2 items.
Use the bar to read tells
Poker Night 2 also lets you buy drinks for your opponents at the Inventory’s bar. A few drinks make the characters easier to read, exposing their tells so you can spot bluffs and strong hands.
Is Poker Night 2 still available?
No, you can’t buy Poker Night 2 from official stores anymore. The game was built around licensed characters from several different companies. When those licences expired, Telltale removed it from sale in September 2018, just days before the studio began its shutdown.
Here’s what that means today:
• If you already own it, you can still download and play it on the platform where you bought it, including Steam, PS3 and Xbox 360. Owners can still earn achievements and in-game unlocks.
• iOS owners may have mixed results, as Telltale warned that restoring the game on Apple devices was up to Apple.
• If you never bought it, there is no official way to purchase it.
A note on third-party keys: Some resellers still list old Poker Night 2 Steam keys. These are unofficial, there’s no guarantee a key will work, and there’s no official support if it doesn’t. Buy at your own risk.
Where to play Poker Night now: the 2026 remaster
The good news for Telltale poker fans is that Poker Night at the Inventory is back. Skunkape Games, a studio formed by former Telltale developers who worked on the original, released a remaster on 5 March 2026.
| Game | Poker Night at the Inventory (Remaster) |
| Developer | Skunkape Games |
| Released | 5 March 2026 |
| Platforms | PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch |
| Price | $9.99 |
| Cast | Max (Sam & Max), Strong Bad (Homestar Runner), Tycho (Penny Arcade), The Heavy (Team Fortress 2) |
What’s new in the remaster:
• Upgraded visuals: higher-resolution models, sharper animations, more detailed environments and new lighting.
• Rebuilt poker engine: the original poker code was stripped down and rebuilt, so the game now plays a far more accurate game of poker, and opponents make smarter decisions that fit their personalities.
• Adjustable starting buy-in, a feature many players wanted in the original.
• New unlockables, including new tables and a graphics mode that recreates the original’s retro look.
• Team Fortress 2 items are back on Steam.
• First release on Nintendo and PlayStation 4.
Will Poker Night 2 get a remaster?
Not yet. Skunkape has only announced the Poker Night at the Inventory remaster, and there is no confirmed plan to bring back Poker Night 2. Bringing the sequel back would likely mean renegotiating licences for Borderlands, Evil Dead, The Venture Bros. and Portal, which is much harder than reviving a game built mostly around characters Skunkape already works with. Fans are hopeful, but for now it’s just a wish.

If you already own it, absolutely. On PC, Poker Night 2 earned “generally favourable” reviews, with a Metacritic score of 75, while the iOS version scored 80. Critics praised the writing and the cast, though some felt the poker AI could be predictable.
