September’s giant online series are over, but if you thought the first Sunday of October would be quiet, think again. This Sunday, 4 October 2026, brings the start of the biggest tournament in CoinPoker’s history, a WSOP Circuit Main Event final day in Malta, and live action from Jeju to Las Vegas.

Whether you’re a $1 satellite grinder or you’re flying to a live stop, here’s every major poker tournament this Sunday, what each one costs, and which one fits your bankroll. All details were checked on 30 September 2026; schedules can shift, so confirm in the official lobby or with the venue before you play.

The Big One: CoinPoker’s $5 Million Guaranteed “The One”

The headline event this Sunday is CoinPoker The One, and it’s a genuine landmark. It’s a $250 buy-in tournament with a $5 million guaranteed prize pool and a guaranteed $1 million first prize, the largest guarantee and the biggest guaranteed winner’s prize CoinPoker has ever offered (PokerStrategy). The winner also gets a one-of-one engraved trophy, and CoinPoker plans to make it an annual event.

The flights are spread across time zones, so whether you’re in Chennai, London or Toronto, there’ll be a Day 1 at a sensible hour. The two final turbo flights on 12 October start at 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm UTC, which works out to 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm IST (Card Player).

How to Qualify for The One Without Paying $250

This is where the value is. CoinPoker built a step-satellite ladder so you can reach a $250 seat for almost nothing (PokerScout):

1.         Step 4: free to enter.

2.         Step 3: $0.20 to $0.50.

Live Poker Tournaments This Sunday

WSOP Circuit Malta: Main Event Final Day

This is a first for the island. The WSOP Circuit has never staged an event in Malta before, and the inaugural festival at Casino Malta features 12 gold ring events from 25 September to 5 October, organised with French live-events company Texapoker (Pokerfuse).

The €1,500 Main Event (Ring Event #8) ran four Day 1 flights from Wednesday to Friday, played Day 2 on Saturday and plays its final day on Sunday, 4 October, at 1:00 pm local time (Hendon Mob). The winner takes the ring plus a $5,000 package to WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas. If you’re following along online, that’s 11:00 UTC or 4:30 pm IST.

APT Jeju 2026, South Korea

The Asian Poker Tour’s Jeju stop runs 25 September to 7 October at LES A Casino, Jeju Shinhwa World, with 135 tournaments and more than KRW 5.2 billion (about $3.5 million) guaranteed (Somuchpoker). The KRW 2.2 billion Main Event wraps up on Saturday, so Sunday’s standout is the Baby Zodiac Classic: a KRW 1.5 million (about $1,025) buy-in with a KRW 125 million (about $85K) guarantee, running 4–5 October (Asian Poker Tour). For players in India and Southeast Asia, Jeju is the closest major live stop this weekend.

•           WSOP Circuit Harrah’s Pompano Beach, Florida (1–12 Oct): the first weekend of a 12-day ring series.

•           WSOP Circuit California, Lincoln (24 Sep – 5 Oct): the series’ penultimate day.

•           Las Vegas fall series: the Wynn Fall Classic (44 events) and the Venetian’s DeepStack Showdown (38 events) both run throughout October (PokerAtlas).

•           Mohegan Sun Fall Kick-Off, Connecticut: $400 buy-in, $75,000 guarantee, Day 2 on Sunday at 11:10 am.

The Unibet Deepstack Open in Marrakech, the African Poker Championship in Tanzania and the Metro Million Showdown in the Philippines also finish on Sunday (Hendon Mob).

Regular Online Sunday Majors

Sunday is still the biggest day of the week for online tournaments. PokerStars, GGPoker, ACR, CoinPoker and most other sites run their largest weekly guarantees on Sundays, and that doesn’t stop just because the September series are over. Guarantees and start times change week to week, so check each site’s tournament lobby on Saturday night rather than trusting last month’s schedule.

One thing to watch this week: with WCOOP and WSOP Online just finished, many regulars take a break. That can mean slightly smaller, softer Sunday fields, which is good news if you’re a recreational player.

How to Pick Your Sunday Tournament

With this much on, the question isn’t “where can I play?” but “what’s right for me?” A few simple rules:

•           Match the buy-in to your bankroll. A common guideline for tournaments is to keep any single buy-in to 1–2% of your poker bankroll. With a $500 bankroll, that’s 5–10 events, which makes The One’s cheap satellites a much better fit than the $250 direct buy-in.

•           Big guarantees don’t always mean big value. A $5 million guarantee sounds amazing, but 20,000 players means a long, grinding tournament. If you can’t sit for eight or more hours, a smaller event with a faster structure might suit you better.

•           Check the time zone. Online flights are listed in UTC or the site’s local time. Convert before you register, especially for late-night flights.
