Paddy Power Poker vs William Hill vs Ladbrokes vs bwin: UK Poker Apps Compared

Last Updated on October 8, 2026 by Bala Kumar

Most “UK poker app” comparisons miss the most important point: these four apps aren’t really four separate choices. They’re two pairs. Paddy Power and William Hill have shared the same player pool on Playtech’s iPoker network. Ladbrokes and bwin sit on Entain’s partypoker network. When you choose an app, you’re mostly choosing which tables and opponents you’ll face.

And in 2026 that has started to change. Flutter, the company behind Paddy Power, is moving its UK poker brands off iPoker and onto the PokerStars network. Betfair made the switch on August 13, 2026, and Paddy Power is next.

This comparison covers where each app stands right now, how much traffic is behind it, what it pays back and which type of player it suits.

The Big 2026 Change: Paddy Power Is Moving to PokerStars

On August 12, 2026, Flutter announced it would bring its UK poker brands onto the PokerStars network:

BrandOld networkNew networkDate
Betfair PokeriPokerPokerStars (“PokerStars on Betfair”)August 13, 2026 (done)
Paddy Power PokeriPoker (since at least 2012)PokerStarsLater in 2026 (no date yet)
Sky PokerOwn networkPokerStarsLater in 2026 (no date yet)
PokerStars UKPokerStarsAccounts move to BetfairLater in 2026

What this means for Paddy Power players:

  • Much bigger fields. You’ll play in the global PokerStars pool: Sunday Million, SCOOP, WCOOP and Spin & Go.
  • Different opponents. iPoker’s recreational, mostly European cash games will give way to PokerStars’ larger and generally tougher regular base.
  • Rewards unknown. Flutter hasn’t published the rake schedule or loyalty structure for the new set-up.
  • Balances. In the Betfair move, players with existing accounts had future tournament registrations refunded and T-Money converted to cash. If Paddy Power follows the same process, use up your tickets before the switch.

Network Traffic: How Busy Are These Apps? (Live Data)

The app is only the front end. The network decides how many players you can find. Here’s what SharkScope-based tracking showed for mid-August to mid-September 2026:

NetworkApps on itAvg. cash seats (30-day)Cash rankDaily MTT entries (30-day)MTT rank
iPoker (International)Paddy Power, William Hill1,237#569,585#5
partypokerLadbrokes, bwin61*#2454,764#9

Data window: 15 Aug–13 Sep 2026 (VIP-Grinders traffic report, SharkScope Analytics).

*Treat partypoker’s cash figure with caution. Tracking tools have a hard time seeing partypoker’s cash tables, so its tournament number (about 55,000 entries a day) better reflects how active the network is.

In practice: iPoker has clearly more cash-game action. partypoker is still a solid tournament network. And once Paddy Power joins PokerStars, which runs far more volume than either, it will have the biggest pool of the four by a long way.

Paddy Power Poker Review

Status: Live. On the day we checked (October 8, 2026), the Paddy Power Poker page showed 2,088 players online and 140 active tournaments.

Welcome offer: New customers can wager £/€20 and get £/€10, plus a freeroll entry. Offers change often, so check the current terms in the app.

Rewards Club: You earn 20 points per €1 paid in rake or fees. Points convert at a rate set by your “Power” level, worth up to 25% rakeback, and there’s a monthly €1,000 freeroll.

Games: Hold’em and Omaha cash games (reported stakes from £0.01/£0.02 to £5/£10), Sit & Gos, Twister jackpot SNGs, fast-fold tables and a daily tournament schedule. There are no mixed games.

Apps: Windows download, iOS, Android and browser play.

Best for: recreational UK and Irish players who want soft low- and mid-stakes games now, and who are fine moving to the PokerStars pool later in the year.

Watch out for: rake and rewards may change after the migration. Don’t build up large ticket balances right before the switch.

William Hill Poker Review

Status: verify before you deposit. UK review sites updated in mid-2026 still list William Hill Poker on iPoker with a UKGC licence. But when we checked on October 8, 2026, William Hill’s poker page redirected to its casino site. Check the poker client in the app before depositing for poker.

Rewards: WH Points earned per £ raked, exchanged for cash at Club-level rates. Reviews put effective rakeback at about 20–27% depending on Club status.

Welcome offer: reports conflict. One June 2026 review found no poker-specific welcome bonus for UK players; another lists a deposit bonus. Check the in-app promotions page.

Games: NLHE and Fixed-Limit Hold’em, Short Deck (6+), PLO, PLO8, Twister SNGs and tournaments. Reported top cash stakes are €25/€50.

Apps: Windows client (up to 16 tables), iOS (rated 4.3) and Android (rated 3.6). There’s no macOS client.

Good to know: iPoker mostly runs in euros, so GBP deposits are converted, and that can cost you a little each way.

Best for: grinders who value rakeback and soft iPoker cash games, if the poker product is still live in your account.

Ladbrokes Poker Review

Status: unclear in 2026. Ladbrokes moved its poker room onto the partypoker network in 2020, after Coral did. We couldn’t confirm the 2026 status from a current, reliable source, and at least one major review site lists it as “currently unavailable” through its links.

What earlier reviews reported: around 550 players a day on the Ladbrokes skin, a £50-in-tickets welcome package for a £10 deposit, and weekly cashback. Those figures are from 2024 or earlier, so treat them as historical.

Network: partypoker (Entain), so you share the same tables as bwin.

Best for: existing Ladbrokes customers who already use the brand for sports and want poker in the same account, if it’s available to you.

bwin Poker Review

Status: Live, licensed by the UK Gambling Commission and Gibraltar, and running on Entain’s partypoker software.

Games and traffic: a busy tournament schedule (a new tournament starts every few minutes at peak times), Spins, SNGs and cash games. On mobile you can play up to 4 tables, compared with 12 on desktop.

Fair-play rules: bwin has restricted third-party tools such as HUDs since 2019. That’s good news for recreational players, who face fewer heavily equipped regulars.

Welcome offer: listed at around £40 in some reviews. Check the current UK offer in the app.

Best for: tournament players who like frequent MTTs and a restricted-HUD environment.

Which UK Poker App Should You Choose?

Choose Paddy Power if: you want to end up in the biggest pool. After the migration, Paddy Power gives UK players access to PokerStars’ global tournaments through a bookmaker account many already have.

Choose William Hill if: rakeback is your priority and the poker client still works in your account. Its 20–27% effective return is among the better published rates of the four.

Choose bwin if: you mainly play tournaments and like a HUD-restricted game.

Choose Ladbrokes if: you already bet with Ladbrokes and its poker product is available to you. Its games are the same partypoker games as bwin.

One practical tip: opening accounts on two different apps on the same network doesn’t get you new opponents. If you want variety, combine one iPoker or PokerStars app with one partypoker app.

Safer Play Tips for UK Players

  • Set deposit limits in each app before your first deposit. All UKGC-licensed operators must offer them.
  • Treat welcome offers as a bonus, not a reason to deposit more than you planned.
  • Use tickets and tournament money before any network migration.
  • If poker stops being fun, use GAMSTOP to self-exclude from all UK-licensed sites at once.
