GGPoker Rolls Out New Table Tools and Confirms December 1 Deadline for Its Poker Software Ban

GGPoker players now have a clear timeline for the room’s third-party software ban, along with new built-in tools to make the change easier. The site has confirmed that enforcement begins on December 1, 2026. Until then, players have time to adjust their setups without the risk of warnings or penalties.

The update follows GGPoker’s recent ban on HUDs and third-party poker tools, which was announced in mid-October after the superuser scandal shocked the high-stakes community. This time, GGPoker’s message is more practical: it explains what players can use instead and how the transition will work.

A Grace Period Until November 30

GGPoker says the period through November 30 is a transition window. During this time, the client won’t send automated warnings or apply penalties for running banned software.

That gives regular players about six weeks to remove old tools, rebuild their table layouts and get used to playing without the programs they’ve relied on for years. Anyone who uses table managers, hotkey scripts or tracking databases should treat this as a deadline, not an optional extra.

New Features Arrive From October 23

To fill the gap left by banned table-management apps, GGPoker will start adding new features to its client from Friday, October 23. The rollout will happen in stages, so not every player will see the features on the same day.

The first three features are:

  • Table swapping: move tables between positions on your screen without dragging windows around manually.
  • Layout locking: keep your preferred table arrangement fixed between sessions, so tables don’t move or overlap.
  • Focus management: control which table is active when several need your attention, so you don’t act on the wrong table.

These features cover many of the jobs that popular multi-tabling tools used to handle. For high-volume players, they could reduce the pain of the ban. Whether they’re good enough to replace a fully customized setup will only become clear once they’re live.

What Happens From December 1

From December 1, the GGPoker client will actively check for banned programs. If it finds one, it will show a warning telling you that prohibited software is running.

A single warning isn’t an automatic ban. However, GGPoker says players who keep receiving warnings without a reasonable explanation could face account restrictions. Those could range from a temporary suspension to permanently closing the account.

To avoid problems, close banned programs fully rather than just minimizing them. Also check your system tray and startup settings, because some tools launch automatically when your computer starts.

Not Every Tool Is Banned

GGPoker has made it clear that the ban doesn’t cover every program on your computer. The rules target software that can read game data or interact with poker tables.

The following tools are still allowed:

  • Window-management tools that are part of your operating system, or similar general-purpose utilities that arrange windows on your screen.
  • Independent productivity apps that don’t connect to the poker client.
  • Standalone random number generators, which some players use to randomize mixed-strategy decisions.

In practice, you can still arrange your tables with system-level window tools. What you can’t use is software designed specifically for poker, such as HUDs, trackers, poker table managers or automation scripts.

Why This Matters

This update shows that GGPoker understands the ban affects legitimate players, not just cheaters. The superuser attack worked by compromising a trusted table-management app. GGPoker’s solution is to move those functions into its own client, where it controls security.

For recreational players, nothing really changes. For multi-tabling regulars, the next six weeks are the time to adjust. Test the new features as soon as they appear, remove anything that might trigger a warning, and get comfortable with your new setup before December 1.

FAQs

When does GGPoker start enforcing its third-party tool ban?

Enforcement starts on December 1, 2026. Until November 30, GGPoker won’t issue automated warnings or penalties.

What new features is GGPoker adding?

GGPoker is adding table swapping, layout locking and focus management. These features will begin rolling out gradually from October 23, 2026.

What happens if GGPoker detects a banned tool?

You’ll receive a warning. Players who keep getting warnings without a valid explanation could face account restrictions, including temporary suspension or permanent account closure.

Can I still use window-management software on GGPoker?

Yes. System-level window-management tools, independent productivity apps and standalone random number generators are not treated as third-party poker tools.

Why is GGPoker banning third-party poker software?

The ban follows the 2026 superuser scandal. An attacker compromised a table-management app and used it to view high-stakes players’ hole cards. GGPoker says removing third-party tools reduces that security risk.
