Poker Hall of Famer Chasing an 11th Bracelet
Seidel arrived at the unofficial final table sitting mid-pack among seven survivors, but he wasted little time climbing the counts. He landed a flop shove against chip leader Joshua Wang, then took down another sizable pot soon after when Wang let go of a combo draw.
The official six-handed final table was set once Krasimir Yankov hit the rail, his flopped set of kings undone by Wang’s rivered set of aces on the river.
With close to $49 million in career live earnings, Seidel has strung together a string of deep runs this summer without quite converting one into a final table. He finished ninth in the $25,000 6-Max High Roller in June for $118,753, and more recently placed 11th in the 8-handed $50,000 High Roller for $146,295. Event #96 marks his first final table of the 2026 WSOP, and it’s a stacked one, featuring five-time bracelet winner Robert Mizrachi, three-time champion Christopher Vitch, and overnight chip leader Joshua Wang.
A win here would push Seidel to 11 career bracelets, putting him alongside Phil Ivey and behind only Phil Hellmuth in the all-time standings.

Seidel currently shares third place on the all-time list with Johnny Chan and the late Doyle Brunson at ten bracelets apiece, a number the sport is likely to see grow further in the years ahead. Event #96 drew 892 entries for a $2,381,640 prize pool across its first two days, with 158 players surviving into Day 2 behind overnight leader Stanislav Halatenko of Ukraine. Seidel bagged one of the top five stacks heading into the final day, alongside five-time champion Robert Mizrachi and three-time winner Christopher Vitch, who took the overall chip lead into the unofficial final table. Fellow bracelet winners Alex Livingston, Sam Soverel, and Xing He also made deep runs before eventually falling short of the official six-handed table.
The $3,000 buy-in PLO event is scheduled to play down to a winner, with $407,137 awaiting the eventual champion. Every remaining player is guaranteed at least $65,840.
