How to play
- Choose an ante of 5, 10 or 25 credits and press Deal.
- Look at your cards. Each game tells you what you can decide: fold or raise, pull back or let it ride, or keep cards and swap the rest.
- Make your choice. The next cards turn over or the dealer shows the hand.
- Your hand is paid by the paytable for that game, or compared with the dealer.
- Not sure what to do? Press Hint to see the average result of each choice.
Caribbean Stud
Dealer needs Ace-King to qualify
- Place an ante and you and the dealer each get five cards. You see yours. The dealer shows one card face up.
- Fold and lose your ante, or Raise by betting two times your ante.
- The dealer qualifies with Ace-King or better. If the dealer does not qualify, your ante wins 1 to 1 and your raise is returned.
- If the dealer qualifies, the better five-card hand wins. A win pays the ante 1 to 1 and the raise by the table. A tie is a push.
- The paytable above is for the raise bet. This free version has no progressive side bet.
| Hand | Raise bet pays |
|---|---|
| Royal Flush | 100 to 1 |
| Straight Flush | 50 to 1 |
| Four of a Kind | 20 to 1 |
| Full House | 7 to 1 |
| Flush | 5 to 1 |
| Straight | 4 to 1 |
| Three of a Kind | 3 to 1 |
| Two Pair | 2 to 1 |
| One Pair | 1 to 1 |
| Less than a pair | 1 to 1 |
Let It Ride
Pair of 10s or better pays
- You place three equal bets and get three cards. Two community cards are dealt face down.
- With three cards in view, pull back your first bet or let it ride. Then the first community card turns over and you may pull back your second bet. The third bet always stays.
- Your five-card hand is your three cards plus the two community cards. Every bet still in play is paid by the table above. A hand below a pair of 10s loses.
- The Hint is exact: it looks at every possible remaining community card and shows whether letting a bet ride has a positive average result.
| Hand | Each bet pays |
|---|---|
| Royal Flush | 1,000 to 1 |
| Straight Flush | 200 to 1 |
| Four of a Kind | 50 to 1 |
| Full House | 11 to 1 |
| Flush | 8 to 1 |
| Straight | 5 to 1 |
| Three of a Kind | 3 to 1 |
| Two Pair | 2 to 1 |
| Pair of 10s or better | 1 to 1 |
Mississippi Stud
Pair of 6s or better
- Place an ante and get two cards. Three community cards are dealt, and the first one turns over. There is no dealer hand to beat.
- On Third Street you see three cards. Fold, bet 1 times your ante, or bet 3 times. Then the second community card turns over for Fourth Street, and the third for Fifth Street, with the same choice each time.
- Your final hand is your two cards plus the three community cards. Your ante and every bet you make are paid by the table above. Pairs of 6s to 10s push, and anything lower loses everything.
- Folding loses your ante and your bets so far. In this free version you may bet 1 times or 3 times on each street. The Hint is an estimate from simulated deals and assumes you bet 1 times on the later streets.
| Hand | Ante and bets pay |
|---|---|
| Royal Flush | 500 to 1 |
| Straight Flush | 100 to 1 |
| Four of a Kind | 40 to 1 |
| Full House | 10 to 1 |
| Flush | 6 to 1 |
| Straight | 4 to 1 |
| Three of a Kind | 3 to 1 |
| Two Pair | 2 to 1 |
| Pair of Jacks or better | 1 to 1 |
| Pair of 6s to 10s | Push |
Oasis Poker
Free version rules: swap up to 5
- Oasis Poker is played with slightly different rules at different tables. This free version uses the simple rules described here.
- Place an ante. You and the dealer get five cards, and the dealer shows one card face up. Tap the cards you want to keep.
- Play your hand as it is, or swap the cards you did not keep once for a fee of 1 times your ante. After a swap you may fold, losing your ante and the fee, or play.
- Playing costs a bet of 1 times your ante. The dealer always plays, so there is no qualifier. The higher five-card hand wins. Ties push.
- The Hint simulates all 32 ways to keep cards and shows the estimated average result of each one.
| Result | Pays |
|---|---|
| You beat the dealer | Ante 1 to 1 and Play 1 to 1 |
| Tie | Push |
| Dealer wins | You lose Ante and Play |
| Swap fee (1 times ante) | Not returned |
| Fold | You lose the ante |
Russian Poker
Free version rules: 6 to Ace deck
- Russian Poker has several versions. This free version uses its own simple rules, described here.
- The deck has 36 cards, 6 through Ace. With fewer cards a Flush is rarer than a Full House, so a Flush ranks higher. The lowest straight is Ace-6-7-8-9.
- Place an ante and you and the dealer get five cards. The dealer shows one card face up. Fold, or Raise by betting two times your ante.
- The dealer qualifies with a pair or better. If not, your ante wins 1 to 1 and your raise is returned. If the dealer qualifies, the better hand wins: the ante pays 1 to 1 and the raise pays by the table. Ties push.
- The paytable above is a practice paytable for this free version.
| Hand | Raise bet pays |
|---|---|
| Royal Flush | 100 to 1 |
| Straight Flush | 50 to 1 |
| Four of a Kind | 25 to 1 |
| Flush | 10 to 1 |
| Full House | 7 to 1 |
| Straight | 5 to 1 |
| Three of a Kind | 3 to 1 |
| Two Pair | 2 to 1 |
| One Pair | 1 to 1 |
| Less than a pair | 1 to 1 |
All five games use one shuffled deck for every hand (36 cards, 6 to Ace, in Russian Poker). An Ace counts high or low in a straight. Caribbean Stud, Let It Ride and Mississippi Stud use the standard rules and paytables shown on the cards. Oasis Poker and Russian Poker have several versions, so this free version uses its own simple rules and a practice paytable, written out on each card. Everything is for learning and entertainment.
Free five-card poker FAQ
Are these games really free?
Yes. You play with free credits, you start with 1,000 and you can refill them to 1,000 at any time. There is no sign-up, nothing to buy, and the credits have no cash value.
How is this different from video poker?
In video poker you draw to a paytable. Here you make decisions as the hand unfolds: fold or raise against the dealer in Caribbean Stud and Russian Poker, pull back or let a bet ride in Let It Ride, and fold or bet 1 or 3 times your ante in Mississippi Stud. In Oasis Poker you choose which cards to keep and swap the rest.
What does the dealer qualifies mean?
In Caribbean Stud the dealer needs Ace-King or better to qualify. If the dealer does not qualify, your ante wins 1 to 1 and your raise bet is returned, whatever your hand. If the dealer qualifies, the better hand wins and your raise is paid by the table.
Are these the exact rules of the table versions?
Caribbean Stud, Let It Ride and Mississippi Stud use the standard rules and paytables shown on each game card. Oasis Poker and Russian Poker are played in several different ways, so this free version uses its own simple rules, which are written out on the card for each game.
How does the Hint work?
When it is your turn to decide, the Hint works out the average result of each choice. In Let It Ride and Mississippi Stud it counts every possible remaining card, so it is exact. In the dealer games it simulates thousands of random deals from the cards you can see, so it is an estimate. With the Strategy Trainer on, the coach rates each decision you make.
