How to play
- Choose an ante and, if you like, the optional side bet. Then press Deal.
- Look at your cards. In Pai Gow Poker, split your seven cards into a back hand of five and a front hand of two.
- In the other games, fold or play. Some games let you raise by 1 or 3 times your ante.
- The dealer turns over the cards. The better hand wins, and bonuses and side bets pay by their tables.
- Not sure what to do? Press Hint to see the average result of each choice.
Three Card Poker
Dealer needs Queen-high to qualify
- Place an ante and you and the dealer each get three cards. Fold and lose your ante, or Play by betting the same amount again.
- Hands rank, high to low: Straight Flush, Three of a Kind, Straight, Flush, Pair, High Card. Ace-2-3 is the lowest straight and Queen-King-Ace the highest.
- The dealer needs Queen-high or better to qualify. If not, your ante wins 1 to 1 and your play bet is returned. If the dealer qualifies, the better hand wins both bets 1 to 1. A tie is a push.
- The ante bonus is paid when you play and have a straight or better, whatever the dealer holds.
- Pair Plus is an optional extra bet equal to your ante. It pays on your own three cards only, whether you fold or play, and does not depend on the dealer.
- The Hint is exact: it counts every possible dealer hand.
| Hand | Ante bonus pays |
|---|---|
| Straight Flush | 5 to 1 |
| Three of a Kind | 4 to 1 |
| Straight | 1 to 1 |
| Optional side bet | Pair Plus pays |
|---|---|
| Straight Flush | 40 to 1 |
| Three of a Kind | 30 to 1 |
| Straight | 6 to 1 |
| Flush | 3 to 1 |
| Pair | 1 to 1 |
Crazy 4 Poker
Dealer opens with King-high
- Place equal Ante and Super Bonus bets. You and the dealer each get five cards, and each makes the best four-card hand. This free version keeps your best four cards for you and sets the fifth aside.
- Four-card hands rank, high to low: Four of a Kind, Straight Flush, Three of a Kind, Flush, Straight, Two Pair, Pair, High Card.
- Fold and lose your bets, or Play. The play bet equals your ante, or up to 3 times your ante when you hold a pair of Aces or better.
- The dealer opens with King-high or better, which matters only for the ante and Super Bonus. If the dealer does not open, the ante pushes and the play bet wins.
- Super Bonus pays on a straight or better whatever the dealer holds. With less than a straight, it pushes if the dealer does not open or you tie or win, and loses if the dealer wins.
- Queens Up is an optional extra bet equal to your ante. It pays on your four cards only.
- Super Bonus pays 1.5 to 1 on a flush, so the antes here are even numbers.
| Hand | Super Bonus pays |
|---|---|
| Four Aces | 200 to 1 |
| Four 2s to Kings | 30 to 1 |
| Straight Flush | 15 to 1 |
| Three of a Kind | 2 to 1 |
| Flush | 1.5 to 1 |
| Straight | 1 to 1 |
| Optional side bet | Queens Up pays |
|---|---|
| Four of a Kind | 50 to 1 |
| Straight Flush | 40 to 1 |
| Three of a Kind | 7 to 1 |
| Flush | 4 to 1 |
| Straight | 3 to 1 |
| Two Pair | 2 to 1 |
| Pair of Queens or better | 1 to 1 |
Four Card Poker
Dealer always plays, tie pays you
- Place an ante. You get five cards and the dealer gets six, with one dealer card face up. You each make the best four-card hand. This free version keeps your best four cards for you.
- Four-card hands rank, high to low: Four of a Kind, Straight Flush, Three of a Kind, Flush, Straight, Two Pair, Pair, High Card.
- Fold and lose your ante, or raise by betting 1 times or 3 times your ante. The dealer has no qualifier and always plays.
- If your hand beats the dealer's or ties it, your ante and raise both pay 1 to 1. If the dealer's hand is higher, you lose both.
- The ante bonus pays on three of a kind or better, whatever the dealer holds.
- Aces Up is an optional extra bet equal to your ante. It pays on your best four cards only, even if you fold.
- The Hint simulates thousands of dealer hands from the cards you cannot see, so it is an estimate.
| Hand | Ante bonus pays |
|---|---|
| Four of a Kind | 25 to 1 |
| Straight Flush | 20 to 1 |
| Three of a Kind | 2 to 1 |
| Optional side bet | Aces Up pays |
|---|---|
| Four of a Kind | 50 to 1 |
| Straight Flush | 40 to 1 |
| Three of a Kind | 8 to 1 |
| Flush | 5 to 1 |
| Straight | 4 to 1 |
| Two Pair | 3 to 1 |
| Pair of Aces or better | 1 to 1 |
High Card Flush
Longest flush wins
- Place an ante. You and the dealer each get seven cards. Your hand is your longest flush: the most cards of one suit. A 5-card flush beats any 4-card flush.
- If two flushes have the same length, the highest cards decide, as in a normal flush: King-Queen-Jack-Ten beats King-Queen-Jack-Nine. Cards outside your best flush do not count.
- Fold and lose your ante, or raise. The most you may raise depends on your flush length, shown in the table above.
- The dealer needs at least a 3-card flush with a nine high to qualify. If not, your ante wins 1 to 1 and your raise is returned. If the dealer qualifies, the higher flush wins ante and raise 1 to 1, and identical flushes push.
- The Flush bet is an optional extra bet equal to your ante. It pays on your flush length only. Published versions use different tables, so this free version uses one of them.
- The Hint simulates thousands of dealer hands, so it is an estimate.
| Optional side bet | Flush bet pays |
|---|---|
| 7-card flush | 300 to 1 |
| 6-card flush | 100 to 1 |
| 5-card flush | 10 to 1 |
| 4-card flush | 1 to 1 |
| Your longest flush | Largest raise |
|---|---|
| 2, 3 or 4 cards | 1 times the ante |
| 5 cards | 2 times the ante |
| 6 or 7 cards | 3 times the ante |
Pai Gow Poker
Free version: no Joker, no commission
- You and the dealer each get seven cards. Split yours into a five-card back hand and a two-card front hand. The back hand must rank higher than the front hand.
- Tap the two cards for your front hand, or press Auto-set. The front hand is a pair or high cards. The back hand is a normal poker hand, and Ace-2-3-4-5 is the second-highest straight.
- Your hands face the dealer's two hands. Win both and you win. Win one and lose one and it is a push. Lose both and you lose your bet. Ties go to the dealer.
- Real Pai Gow Poker adds a Joker and often takes a 5% commission on wins. This free version has neither, and plays a 52-card deck.
- The dealer sets hands with a simple house way built for this free version, which is not the house way of any particular table.
- The Hint tries all 21 ways to split your seven cards against thousands of simulated dealer hands, and shows the one with the best average result.
| Your two hands vs the dealer's | Result |
|---|---|
| Both of your hands win | You win 1 to 1 |
| One hand each | Push |
| Both dealer hands win | You lose your bet |
| A tie on a hand | The dealer wins that hand |
All games use one shuffled 52-card deck for every hand. An Ace counts high or low in a straight. The ante bonus and side bet tables on the cards are among the commonly published ones, and paytables differ between versions. In Crazy 4 Poker and Four Card Poker this free version keeps your best four cards for you. Pai Gow Poker here has no Joker and no commission, and the dealer sets hands with a simple house way. Everything is for learning and entertainment.
Free three and four card poker FAQ
Are these games really free?
Yes. You play with free credits, you start with 1,000 and you can refill them to 1,000 at any time. There is no sign-up, nothing to buy, and the credits have no cash value.
What is the difference between Three Card Poker and Four Card Poker?
In Three Card Poker you and the dealer each get three cards and you fold or play for one more ante. In Four Card Poker you get five cards, keep the best four, and the dealer gets six and keeps the best four. You can fold or raise 1 or 3 times your ante, and the dealer has no qualifier.
What are Pair Plus, Aces Up and Queens Up?
They are optional side bets equal to your ante that pay on your own cards only, whatever the dealer holds. Pair Plus pays for a pair or better in Three Card Poker, Aces Up for a pair of Aces or better in Four Card Poker, and Queens Up for a pair of Queens or better in Crazy 4 Poker.
How does High Card Flush work?
You and the dealer each get seven cards and the longest flush wins: a 5-card flush beats any 4-card flush, and equal lengths are decided by the highest cards. The dealer needs at least a 3-card flush with a nine high to qualify. How much you may raise depends on the length of your flush.
How do I set my hands in Pai Gow Poker?
You get seven cards. Tap two of them for your front hand and the other five become your back hand, which must rank higher. Auto-set picks a split for you. The Hint tests all 21 splits against thousands of simulated dealer hands and shows the best one. Rules vary between tables, so this free version states its own: no Joker and no commission.
How does the Hint work?
When it is your turn to decide, the Hint works out the average result of each choice. In Three Card Poker it counts every possible dealer hand, so it is exact. In the other games it simulates thousands of random deals from the cards you can see, so it is an estimate. With the Strategy Trainer on, the coach rates each decision you make.
