What is the Venetian DeepStack Showdown?
The Venetian runs three DeepStack tournament brands across the year, and the Showdown is the most accessible of them.
| Series | Typical buy-ins | When | Who it suits |
| DeepStack Showdown | $200 – $400 | Short series of one to a few weeks | Locals, recreational players, budget-conscious visitors |
| DeepStack Extravaganza | Mid to high (up to $5,000 in the WPT Fall Festival) | Five times a year, running since 2007 | Recreational players through to professionals |
| DeepStack Championship | Widest range | Summer (May–July) | Players visiting Las Vegas for the summer poker season |
The Venetian describes the Showdown as a shorter series aimed at locals and players within driving distance, with several buy-ins every day and a field that mixes tourists, amateurs and professionals. For players, that translates into deep starting stacks and several tournament options every day.

Headline $100K GTD events
The series does not have an event officially called the Main Event. Instead, five $100K-guaranteed multi-flight No-Limit Hold’em events serve as its headline tournaments, each with several starting flights and a combined Day 2.
| Event | Dates | Buy-in | Guarantee | Starting stack | Day 1 levels | Late registration | Day 1 format |
| #3 | Sep 29 – Oct 3 | $250 | $100,000 | 30,000 | 40 minutes | 6 levels + break (~3:40 PM) | Play to ~12.5% of field; everyone on Day 2 is in the money |
| #8 | Oct 4 – 8 | $300 | $100,000 | 40,000 | 40 minutes | 9 levels + break (~5:55 PM) | Play to ~12.5% of field; everyone on Day 2 is in the money |
| #15 | Oct 9 – 12 | $250 | $100,000 | 40,000 | 30 minutes (40 on Day 2) | 8 levels + break (~3:40 PM / ~9:40 PM) | 12.5% paid on Day 1; top 5% advance |
| #22 | Oct 15 – 19 | $300 | $100,000 | 40,000 | 40 minutes | 9 levels + break | Play to ~12.5% of field; everyone on Day 2 is in the money |
| #35 | Oct 24 – 27 | $250 | $100,000 | Check official structure sheet | Check official structure sheet | Check official structure sheet | 12.5% paid on Day 1; top 5% advance; $10 reduced rake on Day 1A/1B |
Starting stacks by event: #3 starts with 30,000 chips; #8, #15 and #22 start with 40,000 chips. Event #35’s stack wasn’t confirmed at the time of writing, so check its official structure sheet. Event #27, the $250 Seniors event with a $50,000 guarantee (Oct 19–22, players aged 50+), uses the same multi-flight idea but isn’t one of the five $100K headline events.
Two formats, explained simply
Classic multi-flight (Events #3, #8, #22): You play one Day 1 flight until roughly the last 12.5% of that flight remains. Everyone who bags chips returns for Day 2 already in the money. If you bag chips, you can’t play another flight.
Day 1 payouts (Events #15, #35): About 12.5% of each Day 1 flight gets paid on the day, but only the top 5% carry chips to Day 2. If you cash on Day 1 but bust before reaching Day 2, you’re allowed to fire another flight. This format suits players with limited time in Las Vegas, because a single day can already produce a cash.
Day 2 shot clock
According to the official structure sheets, on Day 2 the tournament director can use a shot clock: 20 seconds to act pre-flop and 30 seconds post-flop. Players get time-extension chips worth 30 seconds each, with the number depending on the field size. The shot clock is removed at the final table.
Which Venetian DeepStack Showdown event should you play?
| Player type | Best option |
| Best shot at a large prize pool | $100K GTD events (#3, #8, #15, #22, #35) |

| Seniors (50+) | Event #27 ($250, 50KGTD)or#1(400, $20K GTD) |
| Bounty fans | Daily 200bounties,or#13(400) for bigger bounties ($500 each in the money) |
| One-day visitors | $300 one-day NLH events (#16, #20, #33, #37, $15K GTD each) |

Venetian DeepStack Showdown buy-ins
| Buy-in | Number of events | Events |
| $200 | 22 | Daily bounty events (#2, #4, #5, #7, #9–12, #14, #17, #19, #21, #23–26, #28–30, #32, #34, #38) |
| $250 | 4 | $100K GTD events #3, #15, #35 and Seniors #27 |
| $300 | 9 | $100K GTD events #8 and #22, plus #16, #18, #20, #31, #33, #36, #37 |

What you’re really paying: the house fee
The official structure sheets show exactly how the buy-in is split:
• $250 events: $200 goes to the prize pool and $50 is withheld for house fees (rake plus staff), which is 20%.
• $300 events: $240 goes to the prize pool and $60 is withheld, also 20%.
Practical insight: a $100,000 guarantee is met with about 500 total entries in a 250event(200 × 500), or about 417 entries in a 300event(240 × 417). If entries fall short, the casino covers the difference (an “overlay”), which is good value for players. Watching the entry count during late registration tells you whether an overlay is likely.
Tournament structure (example: $300 No-Limit Hold’em, Events #8 and #22)
| Level | Blinds | Big blind ante | Notes |
| 1 | 100 / 200 | 200 | 40,000 starting chips = 200 big blinds |
| 2 | 200 / 300 | 300 | |
| 3 | 200 / 400 | 400 | 15-minute break |
| 4 | 300 / 500 | 500 | |
| 5 | 300 / 600 | 600 | |
| 6 | 400 / 800 | 800 | 15-minute break |
| 7 | 500 / 1,000 | 1,000 | |
| 8 | 600 / 1,200 | 1,200 | |
| 9 | 800 / 1,600 | 1,600 | Break; remove 100 chips; registration closes |
| 10 | 1,000 / 2,000 | 2,000 | |
| 11 | 1,500 / 2,500 | 2,500 | |
| 12 | 2,000 / 3,000 | 3,000 | Break; remove 500 chips |
| 15 | 3,000 / 6,000 | 6,000 | |
| 20 | 10,000 / 20,000 | 20,000 | |
| 25 | 30,000 / 60,000 | 60,000 | |
| 30 | 100,000 / 200,000 | 200,000 | Final listed level |
All levels are 40 minutes, with a 15-minute break after every three levels. The ante comes from the big blind only, and the big blind is posted before the ante.
What this means for you: you start with 200 big blinds and, even at the close of late registration (level 9), you still have 25 big blinds if you haven’t won a pot. That’s why some players choose to register late: you can skip the early levels and still have a playable stack. The trade-off is that you lose the chance to build a stack while the blinds are tiny.
How to enter the Venetian DeepStack Showdown
1. Join Venetian Rewards. A Venetian Rewards card is required for every tournament. Sign up online or at the resort before your first event.
2. Bring valid ID. The structure sheets require players to be 21 or older, and valid ID is needed to collect winnings.
3. Register. Sign up at the poker room tournament desk. The structure sheets state that all pre-registered stacks are in play at the start of the event.
4. Pick your flight. For multi-flight events, choose one Day 1. Remember: if you bag chips, you can’t play another flight (except in Day 1 payout events, if you bust after cashing).
5. Watch the late registration cut-off. It’s listed on each structure sheet, usually after level 6, 8 or 9 plus a break.
6. Check tax rules. U.S. and international players may have tax-reporting or withholding obligations on gambling winnings. Check current IRS guidance and the Venetian’s payout procedures before travelling.
7. Choose your payout. The structure sheets state that winners may be paid in casino chips or cash.
Satellites
As of October 5, 2026, the official DeepStack Showdown schedule doesn’t list any dedicated satellite events. Satellites are more common for the bigger Venetian series, such as the WPT Fall Festival that follows. Ask the tournament desk whether any mega-satellites or single-table satellites are running during your visit.
Venetian poker room: practical tips for tournament players
• Location: inside The Venetian Resort on the Las Vegas Strip. Tournament registration is at the poker room desk.
• Food at the table: the Venetian offers tableside food service, so you won’t miss hands during long Day 1 sessions.
• Two sessions a day: most days have an 11:10 AM event and a 5:10 PM event. If you bust early, there’s usually another tournament the same evening.
• Cash games: the poker room runs cash games alongside the series, which is useful if you bust and want to keep playing.
How to follow results
The Venetian posts structure sheets and results for each event on its official DeepStack Showdown results page. Final results normally appear after each event finishes. For the bigger WPT Fall Festival that follows, the WPT Fall Championship final table is scheduled to be livestreamed on November 10 at 12:00 PM.
