WSOP Super Circuit LATAM 2027: 18 Gold Rings Head to Punta Cana

Next January’s poker calendar has a new Caribbean stop. The WSOP Super Circuit LATAM will run from January 24 to February 2, 2027, at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. It has 18 WSOP Circuit gold ring events, buy-ins from $400 to $25,000, and a $3,500 Main Event with $2,000,000 guaranteed.

This isn’t just another Circuit stop. Hard Rock Punta Cana has never hosted a WSOP event, so the festival is a first for both the venue and the region. For players in Latin America who usually have to travel to Las Vegas or Europe for a WSOP ring, this is the closest shot they’ve had in years.

Here’s what’s on the schedule, what it costs, and how to qualify cheaply online if you’re willing to grind satellites.

What Is a “Super Circuit”?

Standard WSOP Circuit stops usually have a $1,700 Main Event and 12 or so ring events. The Super Circuit is a bigger version: more ring events, higher buy-ins, larger guarantees, and a high roller schedule aimed at international players.

The brand started online. GGPoker hosted the first WSOP Super Circuit Online Series in May 2020 with 18 ring events. The format went live for the first time in 2026, with Super Circuit Canada. LATAM is the third live Super Circuit:

The Canadian debut, which also had 18 ring events and more than CA$14 million in total guarantees, set a high bar. LATAM is smaller in buy-in and guarantee, and that’s intentional. A $3,500 Main Event is affordable for many regional players while still big enough to attract traveling pros.

Why Latin America Matters for the WSOP

The WSOP has been building in the region all year. Montevideo, Uruguay hosted a 12-ring Circuit stop from May 18 to 25, and the Circuit made its first-ever visit to Mexico City from August 31 to September 11, 2026, with a $1,700 Main Event. More stops are coming before Punta Cana: WSOP.com lists Circuit events in Rosario, Argentina (November 4–12) and Panama City, Panama (November 5–15).

Punta Cana fits well. It’s one of the most-visited beach destinations in the Caribbean, with direct flights from North America, South America and Europe. That makes it easier to reach for a global field than many traditional poker cities, and much more appealing in late January than a casino in a cold climate.

The Main Event: $3,500 With $2 Million Guaranteed

The $3,500 NLH Super Circuit Main Event is the centerpiece:

• Three starting flights: January 28, 29 and 30
• Play continues: January 29–31, with the event running to the end of the festival
• Structure: 50,000 starting chips with 60-minute levels
• Re-entry: unlimited

WSOP hasn’t published the full flight and Day 2 structure yet. Check the official event page before booking travel around specific days.

What the guarantee means in numbers: As a simplified estimate, the event would need at least 572 entries to cover 2million(2,000,000 ÷ $3,500), and that assumes the entire buy-in goes into the prize pool. Live buy-ins include a fee, so the real number of entries needed will be higher once WSOP confirms the prize-pool contribution. For a first-time venue, that’s an ambitious target. If the field falls short, players get an overlay, meaning extra prize money paid by the organizer.

Practical tip: With overlapping starting flights, a player who busts the first flight can usually re-enter a later one. Unlimited re-entry helps players with bigger bankrolls. If you’re on a fixed budget, decide your maximum number of bullets before you arrive, and don’t change it after a bad beat.

Published Schedule Highlights (January 24–29)

Schedule as published in the series announcement. The schedule continues through February 2, including the $10,000 PLO High Roller. At the time of writing, the official WSOP.com event page says the full schedule will be announced soon, so check it for final times, buy-ins and structures before you travel.

Which events suit which players?

• Recreational players and smaller bankrolls: The $400 Mini Main Event is the best value on the schedule. It has a 50,000 stack, 30-minute levels and late registration through Level 13, so it plays deep for its price. The $500 Kickoff is a good way to warm up on day one.
• Mid-stakes regulars: The $1,700 Circuit Championship matches the buy-in of a standard Circuit Main Event, so it should draw a solid field. The $1,000 Mystery Bounty has two flights and the extra appeal of random bounty prizes.
• PLO specialists: You get three ring chances, the $1,500 Monster Stack, the $2,500 Super Turbo Bounty and the $10,000 PLO High Roller. That’s a strong lineup for a Circuit stop.
• High rollers: The $5,000 Hard Rock High Roller, 10,000GGMillion High Roller and $25,000 Super High Roller will draw the traveling pros and GGPoker-sponsored players.

A note on turbos: The 20-minute Bounty Turbo and the PLO Super Turbo Bounty reward aggression and push/fold skill more than deep-stack play. If you mainly play slow live structures, expect higher variance.

How to Qualify Online for Under $1

The biggest draw for many players worldwide is the satellite ladder on GGPoker. According to the series announcement, players can win a WSOP Super Circuit package worth $3,500 through WSOP Express:

Making the ladder work for you:

1. Start at the bottom. A $0.50 entry costs almost nothing, and the ladder is designed to let you climb with winnings. GGPoker’s Daily Freebie is another way to build a small balance first.
2. Buy in directly only at a step you can comfortably afford. If the $150 step is a big part of your bankroll, grind the lower steps.
3. Read the package terms. Check whether travel and hotel are included and whether there’s a deadline to claim your seat.

Travel Tips for Punta Cana

• Flights: Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) handles most international arrivals, and the resort area is a short drive away.
• Book early. Late January is peak season in the Caribbean, so hotel prices rise as the event approaches. If you plan to play the Main Event, staying at or near the Hard Rock resort saves travel between sessions.
• Bankroll in advance. Confirm with the venue which currency tournaments use and how payouts are handled before you travel with cash.
• Entry requirements: Check visa and passport rules for your nationality on the Dominican Republic’s official sites.

Our Take

For players in Latin America, this is the most accessible WSOP ring opportunity in years. The schedule covers every budget, from cheap online satellites to a $25,000 high roller, without leaving out the middle stakes. The $3,500 Main Event is the right size: too small to scare off ambitious amateurs, big enough to make the trip worthwhile for pros.

The big question is turnout. A $2 million guarantee at a venue that has never hosted the WSOP is a bold bet. If the GGPoker satellites send enough qualifiers, Punta Cana could quickly become a regular stop. If not, the players who show up may enjoy a valuable overlay.
