Atlantic City’s autumn poker calendar has its anchor event back. The Borgata Fall Poker Open \returns to the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa from November 3 to 17, 2026. This year it’s bigger on paper than last year’s comeback edition: the published schedule lists 27 main events, about two dozen side events, and $4,000,000 in guaranteed prize money.
If you’re planning a trip, or just trying to decide which events suit your bankroll, this guide covers the full schedule, what each buy-in actually gets you, and how the mixed-game lineup works if you’ve never played anything beyond Hold’em.

The $2,700 Championship: The Event Everyone’s Circling
The Championship runs November 13–17 with a $2,700 buy-in and a $1,000,000 guarantee. It’s been Borgata’s flagship price point for years, and the guarantee has a good track record. Last fall’s Main Event easily beat its $1 million guarantee.
The best guide to what to expect this November is the most recent edition of the same event. At the 2026 Borgata Summer Poker Open in July, the $2,700 Championship drew 565 entries for a $1,356,000 prize pool, and Carlos Chadha Villamarin won $242,385.
Those numbers tell you two useful things:
- About $2,400 of each $2,700 buy-in goes into the prize pool. 565 entries × $2,400 = $1,356,000 exactly. The remaining $300 (around 11%) covers the house fee and staff.
- The Championship needs roughly 417 entries to cover its $1M guarantee. The summer event cleared that comfortably. If the fall field lands anywhere near 565 again, expect a pool around $1.3–1.4 million and a first prize in the $240,000 range.
For players who don’t want to pay the full $2,700, satellites are the obvious route (more on those below).

Which events give the best value?
The 600FallDeepstackKickOff(1M GTD) is the sleeper hit of the schedule. It offers the same seven-figure guarantee as the Championship at less than a quarter of the price. Expect a huge field, multiple starting flights, and a top-heavy payout. If you’re travelling in early, this is the one to build your trip around.
The 350MiniMain(500K GTD) runs across almost the entire series. That makes it the most flexible event on the schedule. Busy weekend visitors can fire a flight whenever they arrive.
The “Deep, Deeper, Deepest” trilogy ($300, $400, $500 on Nov 8–10) is ideal for recreational players. Deeper stacks mean more play and less pressure to gamble early, which suits anyone who isn’t a seasoned tournament pro.
The $1,600 Signature 6-Max is the event to target if you’re comfortable playing aggressively short-handed. Six-max fields at this price tend to be tougher, but there’s more action and more decisions per hour.
The Mixed-Game Schedule
This is what sets the Fall Open apart from most live series. Borgata is running 11 mixed-game events, alongside the Chainsaw Series of Poker, which runs concurrently and adds mixed-game options.
| Date | Event | Buy-In | Guarantee |
| Nov 4 | Omaha Hi-Lo | $600 | — |
| Nov 5–6 | H.O.R.S.E. Championship | $1,100 | $25,000 |
| Nov 6 | Stud Hi-Lo | $600 | — |
| Nov 7 | T.O.R.S.E. | $600 | — |
| Nov 8 | Pot Limit Big O | $600 | — |
| Nov 9 | O.E. | $600 | — |
| Nov 10 | T.O.E. | $600 | — |
| Nov 11 | H.O.R.S.E. | $600 | — |
| Nov 12–13 | T.O.R.S.E. Championship | $1,100 | $35,000 |
| Nov 13 | Chainsaw’s 8-Game Mix | $600 | — |
| Nov 14 | Triple-Triple Draw (A-5, 2-7, Badugi) | $600 | — |
Mixed games explained for beginners
If acronyms like H.O.R.S.E. look like alphabet soup, here’s a quick decoder:
- H.O.R.S.E. rotates five games: Hold’em, Omaha Hi-Lo, Razz, Seven Card Stud, and Stud Hi-Lo (Eight-or-better). The game changes every round of blinds or limits.
- T.O.R.S.E. follows the same idea but swaps Hold’em for Triple Draw (2-7 lowball). That takes away the comfort zone of most Hold’em specialists.
- Big O is five-card Pot Limit Omaha played hi-lo. Expect big pots and lots of split ones.
- Triple-Triple Draw rotates three draw games: A-5 Triple Draw, 2-7 Triple Draw and Badugi. In all three you’re trying to make the lowest hand, not the highest.
- 8-Game Mix is the full rotation most mixed-game regulars play: the H.O.R.S.E. games plus 2-7 Triple Draw, No-Limit Hold’em and Pot-Limit Omaha.
- O.E. and T.O.E. are shorter rotations built from the Omaha, Stud Hi-Lo and Triple Draw family. Check the structure sheet at registration for the exact games.
Practical insight: mixed-game fields are usually much smaller than Hold’em fields, often a few dozen players. That makes the $600 mixed events some of the best value on the schedule for players who know the games. One cash can come with fewer than 50 runners. If you’re new, the single-game $600 Omaha Hi-Lo and Stud Hi-Lo events are a better first step than jumping straight into a rotation.
2026 vs. 2025: How the Series Has Grown
The 2025 edition was a comeback year. It was the first full Fall Poker Open since 2019, after a five-year break. Here’s how 2026 compares:
| 2025 | 2026 | |
| Dates | Nov 4–17 | Nov 3–17 |
| Total guarantees | Over $3 million | $4,000,000 |
| Championship | $2,700, $1M GTD | $2,700, $1M GTD |
| Big NLH guarantee outside the Championship | — | $600 Deepstack Kick Off, $1M GTD |
| Mixed-game events | 7 mix events plus a PLO Championship | 11 mixed events plus a PLO Championship |
PokerNews described last year’s schedule as carrying more than $3 million in guaranteed prize pools. That makes 2026 roughly a third bigger in guarantees. The biggest change is a second $1 million guarantee in the $600 Deepstack Kick Off.
How to Qualify Online
You don’t have to pay the full buy-in. BetMGM Poker and Borgata Poker run satellites for players in New Jersey, Michigan and Pennsylvania, usually opening several weeks before the series, with entries starting as low as $2.
A few tips if you’re going the satellite route:
- Start early. Qualifiers ramp up through October, and the cheapest step satellites fill fastest close to the series.
- Check what the seat covers. Some packages include the buy-in only, while others add hotel nights. Read the satellite description carefully.
- You need to be physically in an eligible state to play. You can live anywhere, but you must be located in NJ, MI or PA when you play the satellite.
Planning Tips for Players Travelling In
- Book rooms early. The Championship’s final days overlap with a weekend (Nov 14–15), and Borgata rooms tend to sell out around big series.
- Arrive in time for the Deepstack Kick Off if you want two shots at a $1M guarantee in one trip.
- Budget for a bankroll-friendly schedule. A realistic plan for a recreational player might be the $350 Mini Main, one “Deep, Deeper, Deepest” event, and a Championship satellite, instead of a straight $2,700 buy-in.
- Bring ID. Every event is 21+, and you’ll need a valid government ID to register.
