Even though the bracelet events of the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) have concluded, the poker action in Las Vegas hasn’t slowed down. The WSOP Circuit Horseshoe series kicked off right after the WSOP wrapped, keeping grinders busy until the WSOP Main Event final table resumes in early August. Amid a packed schedule of Circuit ring events, one storyline has stood out above the rest, a heads-up rematch that no one saw coming.
Round One: Taylor Tops Simon in the $600 PLO
In Event #3: $600 Pot-Limit Omaha, Thomas Taylor outlasted a field of 451 entries to capture his third career WSOP Circuit ring. Runner-up David Simon banked a solid $29,699, while Eugene Moss rounded out the podium in third.
PokerNews live reporter Brett Slezak also made a deep run, busting in seventh for $6,185 — a nice cash for someone usually on the other side of the notebook.

Round Two: History Repeats Itself in the $800 PLO
Just three tournaments later, poker fans got a rare treat — the exact same two players squaring off heads-up again, this time in Event #6: $800 Pot-Limit Omaha. With 247 entries in the field, Taylor once again out-dueled Simon for the title, collecting $38,826 and a second consecutive Circuit ring. Simon settled for second place yet again, adding $25,549 to his growing PLO résumé. 888poker ambassador Vivian Saliba completed the top three.
The back-to-back result made Taylor the first multi-ring winner of the Horseshoe series, pushing his combined earnings from the two events past $83,000. Simon, despite the repeat runner-up finish, still walked away with more than $55,000 across the two tournaments.
