Ren “Tony” Lin has done it again in Jeju. The Chinese high roller won the KPC Poker October Series 5M High Roller at LES A Casino for KRW 134,120,000 (about $99,940) after a heads-up deal with Zhengqing Zhao. It’s another title at the venue where Lin has become the man to beat in 2026, and he isn’t done yet. He has already named his next two targets: the $60,000 Super High Roller and the KPC Main Event.

How Tony Lin Won the Final Table

Lin came into the final nine eighth of nine in chips with 3.2 million. Aleksandras Rusinovas led with just over 10 million. Lin didn’t stay short for long.

  • The early move: Sean Ooi set the tone in the first big pot. His pocket aces held against Siyoung Lee’s kings, sending Lee out in ninth.
  • Lin’s surge: Lin won three straight all-ins. Pocket threes beat Rokas Asipauskas’ ace-nine suited. Pocket fours picked off Marius Kudzmanas’ king-queen bluff. Pocket queens hit a set against Nevan Chang’s nines. Three eliminations took Lin from the short stack to about 17 million.
  • The trap that wasn’t: Hyunyeong Kang limped pocket queens, and Lin checked his option with four-three offsuit. Two threes then hit the board, giving Lin trips, and Kang went out in fourth.
  • Third place: Lin shoved king-seven of diamonds, Ooi called with ace-ten, and a king on the flop ended Ooi’s comeback run in third.

That left Lin with 39 million chips against Zhao’s 11 million. The two agreed a deal, and Lin took the trophy.

Afterwards, Lin put his steady mindset down to sleep, rest and exercise, and gave newer players a simple piece of advice: “Luck can win you a hand, but it won’t win you a career.”

The $60,000 buy-in King’s Super High Roller, the biggest buy-in of the festival, drew 50 entries for a $2,808,000 prize pool, and 30 players advanced to Day 2.

Austria’s Manuel Fritz leads with 2,345,000 chips. That’s despite losing his first bullet with ace-jack against Fabian Gumz’s ace-queen; he re-entered and finished the day on top. Quan Zhou (1,579,000) and Ethan “Rampage” Yau (1,540,000) are next.

Lin survived with 317,000 chips, so his bid for a second title this week is still alive. Thailand’s Punnat Punsri and $25K Super High Roller winner Lei Yu also made Day 2.

KPC Main Event: 1,082 Entries Beat the Guarantee

The KRW 1,300,000 (about $969) KPC Main Event closed registration after six Day 1 flights with 1,082 entries. That built a KRW 1,215,303,000 (about $905,600) prize pool, around 38% above the KRW 880 million guarantee.

A total of 105 players return for Day 2. Huixiang Xia leads with 876,000 chips, ahead of Yue Mou (684,000) and Lee Wee Liew (639,000).
