WPT Seoul 2026 Main Event: Complete Guide to the KRW 1 Billion GTD Inspire Championship
On this page

The WPT Seoul 2026 Main Event, officially the WPT Seoul Inspire Championship, started with Day 1A on Thursday, November 5, at INSPIRE Entertainment Resort in Incheon, South Korea. It carries a KRW 1 billion guarantee, and the champion will be crowned on Monday, November 9.

This is the World Poker Tour’s first-ever stop at INSPIRE. The tournament is played in a brand-new room, the 70-table YY Poker Club on the resort’s second floor. The festival opened on October 30, so by the time the Championship began, the room had already crowned close to 20 champions. The first of them was Japan’s Daisuke Nagano, who won the opening Superstack.

Maybe you’re planning to fly in for a late flight, or maybe you’re following from Singapore, Shanghai or Tokyo. Either way, this guide covers everything you need to know.

KRW 1 Billion Guarantee Explained: How Many Entries Are Needed?

A billion won sounds enormous, and it is a serious number for an event that costs under US$1,500. The more useful question for a player is: how many entries does it take to cover the KRW 1 billion GTD?

CalculationFigure
GuaranteeKRW 1,000,000,000
Prize pool share per entryKRW 1,575,000
Entries needed to cover the guarantee≈ 635
Places paid at 635 entries (12.5%)≈ 79

If the four Day 1 flights together draw fewer than about 635 entries, the organisers pay the difference. That gap is called “overlay,” and it adds value for every player in the field. If more players enter, the prize pool grows.

How realistic is 635? The festival’s earlier events give a good read:

EventBuy-in (KRW)EntriesPrize Pool (KRW)Winner

#1 Inspire Superstack600,0007337,843,200Daisuke Nagano
#19 Monster Stack1,000,0006556,160,000Gary Moon

The Warm Up more than doubled its guarantee, which is a strong sign. Still, the Championship needs about 1.8 times the Warm Up’s turnout at 2.5 times the price. Four flights, unlimited re-entry and two flights on Saturday are designed to close that gap, but the guarantee is not certain to be covered.

If you’re undecided, watch the Day 1A and 1B entry totals. Low numbers on those days suggest Saturday’s flights could carry overlay.

WPT Seoul 2026 Main Event Schedule and Day 1 Flights

There are four starting flights, and every flight begins with the same 40,000 chips. All times are Korea Standard Time (KST, UTC+9), which is one hour ahead of Singapore, Beijing and Hong Kong.

DayDateStart Time (KST)Registration Closes
Day 1AThursday, Nov 511:30 AMLevel 10 (≈ 7:00 PM)
Day 1BFriday, Nov 611:30 AMLevel 10 (≈ 7:00 PM)
Day 1CSaturday, Nov 711:30 AMLevel 10 (≈ 6:30 PM)
Day 1DSaturday, Nov 76:00 PMLevel 10 (≈ 9:20 PM)
Day 2Sunday, Nov 811:30 AMClosed
Final DayMonday, Nov 911:30 AMClosed

Each Day 1 flight plays down to the money, which many players overlook. If you survive your flight, you have already secured a cash before Day 2 starts. Best stack forward applies: if you bag chips in more than one flight, only your biggest stack moves on, and the extra bag pays a minimum cash.

WPT Seoul Inspire Championship Structure and Blind Levels

The WPT Seoul Inspire Championship structure gives players plenty of room to play. Here is how your 40,000 starting stack holds up through registration:

LevelBlindsBig Blind AnteStack in Big Blinds (40,000 chips)
1100 / 200200200 BB
3200 / 400400100 BB
5300 / 600600≈ 67 BB
7500 / 1,0001,00040 BB
10 (registration closes)1,000 / 2,0002,00020 BB
15 (action clock starts after)3,000 / 6,0006,000≈ 7 BB

That is the real trade-off. Registering at the start gives you about six hours of deep-stacked poker, where skill makes the most difference. Registering late saves time, but your first few hands become mostly all-in-or-fold decisions. For newer players, starting early is almost always the better choice.

The official structure sheet runs to Level 34 (250,000/500,000), so there is plenty of play left even on the final day.

Daisuke Nagano Wins the WPT Seoul Superstack

The first trophy of WPT Seoul went to Japan’s Daisuke Nagano. On opening day, October 30, he won Event #1, the Inspire Superstack.

The event ended with a three-way all-in, where Nagano held ace-king and needed an ace. He found one. This is not his first Asian title this year: he also won a Super Hyper Turbo at APT Taipei in April.

Nagano’s win set the tone for the week. Japanese players have dominated the side events since:

Main Event players should expect strong, well-prepared regulars from Japan, along with a growing number of players from China, Vietnam and across Asia.

The practical read on WPT Seoul so far: fields are mid-sized, the structures favour skilled play, and the travelling regulars are good. Come prepared, not in holiday mode.
