The 20th Anniversary edition of the PokerStars Sunday Million has its champion. Out of a field of 55,444 entries, it was Belarus’s “AHTOCb” who outlasted everyone, banking $255,336 from a prize pool that blew well past its $5 million guarantee to land at $5,544,400.
The road to the final table ran through a brutal bottleneck: 1,763 players were whittled down to just 49 survivors, with each of those 49 already locked into at least $924 from the base prize pool before bounty money was even counted. Finland’s “RageReaperf” carried the chip lead into that stage, with the eventual champion, “AHTOCb,” sitting second.
What made this final table stand out wasn’t just the size of the field — it was where a chunk of it came from. Eight of the final 49 players had won their seat through satellites, PokerStars’ Power Path, or the Ticket Machine, with one player reaching the business end of the tournament after paying just $1.50 to get in.

Satellite Winners Steal the Spotlight
Before the official final table even set, the story of the day belonged to Paul “jim5432” Romain, a well-known face on the UK poker scene who turned a $1.50 Power Path Step 2 satellite into a 14th-place finish worth $2,039 once bounties were added in. It’s the kind of return that satellite grinders dream about.
By the numbers: Two of the nine finalists, including fifth-place finisher “Aleshek” — booked their seat through an $11 satellite. Aleshek’s $55,198 payday works out to roughly a 501,700% return on investment.
Armenia’s “Karat221” was the unlucky bust-out in 10th place, officially setting the nine-handed final table. From there, every remaining player was guaranteed a five-figure score once bounties were factored in, starting with Ukraine’s “grid 92,” the first finalist eliminated, who collected $12,999.
The Final Table Unfolds
Swedish high-stakes specialist Niklas “Lena900” Astedt was next to fall, exiting in eighth for $25,538. Start-of-final-table chip leader “RageReaperf” followed in seventh for $32,712, and Denmark’s “makassip”, another $11 satellite qualifier, bowed out sixth for $31,578.
“Aleshek” then hit the rail in fifth, and PokerStars regular “234241234214432” exited fourth for a $93,793 payday. The final table then lost Hungary’s Marton “komarcus” Kokai, a former Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) champion, in third place for $144,167, the tournament’s first six-figure payout.
Both finalists had already locked up at least $176,300 from the base prize pool by the time heads-up play began; only the two remaining bounties were still up for grabs.
That set up a heads-up battle between “AHTOCb” and Charlie “JIZOINT” Combes of the United Kingdom. Combes, who had previously chopped a Sunday Million title back in 2019, fell short again, but the $186,255 he banked stands as the largest online score of his career. “AHTOCb,” meanwhile, walked away with $255,336 and a permanent line in PokerStars’ history books as the 20th Anniversary Sunday Million champion.
