The Venetian DeepStack Championship is the flagship summer poker series at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, running each year alongside the WSOP as one of the largest mid-stakes festivals on the Las Vegas Strip. Since the DeepStack format debuted at the property in 2007, the series has built a reputation for generous starting stacks, slower structures, and guarantees that rival series at much higher buy-ins, drawing everyone from Strip regulars to touring pros chasing volume during the busiest stretch of the poker calendar.

Where the Series Stands Right Now

As of the most recent official update, 69 of the 121 events have crowned a winner, with the series having catered to a combined 16,707 entries and awarded $13,456,945 in prize money so far,  comfortably on pace with, and likely to exceed, last year’s numbers by the time the final table wraps on August 2.

For context on scale, the 2025 series ran 116 events, catered to approximately 29,266 combined entries, and awarded $29,860,175 in prize money, with six events drawing over 1,000 entrants. The 2026 edition expanded to 121 events and is tracking toward a similar or larger footprint once the full summer is complete.

Two of the biggest remaining tournaments on the calendar are back-to-back MSPT Main Events: an $1,100 buy-in running July 11–14 and a $1,600 buy-in running July 15–19, both carrying $1 million guarantees. Recent weeks have also produced a steady run of recreational storylines,  the $800 LIPS Ladies event alone paid out 40 places from a 314-entry field, with amateur players mixing it up alongside the game’s regulars deep into the money.

Structure Notes

The series is built around the DeepStack format the room pioneered back in 2007: large starting stacks and slower levels designed to give players room to maneuver rather than forcing quick, shove-heavy poker. Most single-day events use 20-to-30-minute levels, while the multi-day flagship events — the $1,100 and $1,600 NLH tournaments, the Seniors Championships, and the MSPT Main Events — extend to 40-minute levels on Day 1 to reward deeper, more strategic play. Bounty formats are used heavily throughout the series, with bounty amounts typically escalating once the field reaches the money.

Tournament Formats

Alongside the daily No-Limit Hold’em grind, the 2026 schedule builds in dedicated variety: Pot-Limit Omaha and PLO Bounty events, Limit Omaha 8-or-Better, Big O, and 5-Card PLO, plus a full slate of age-restricted Seniors (50+) and Super Seniors (60+) tournaments. Ladies-only events run throughout the summer as well, culminating in the $2,500 LIPS Ladies High Roller, one of the series’ streamed centerpiece events.

How to Qualify: Satellites and Milestone Events

The Venetian builds satellite pathways directly into the schedule rather than running them as a separate track. “Milestone Satellite” events,  for example the $300 Ladies Milestone Satellite and the $200 NLH Milestone Satellite,  award direct entry into that week’s bigger buy-in event (LIPS Ladies High Roller and the MSPT Heart Poker Championship, respectively) for a fraction of the full buy-in, giving recreational players a lower-cost route into the series’ bigger guarantees.

The Venue: The Venetian Resort Las Vegas

The Venetian Poker Room sits on the Strip inside one of Las Vegas’s best-known resorts, running 24 hours a day throughout the series. Once the DeepStack Championship wraps, The Venetian moves directly into its DeepStack Showdown (August) series, running August 3–31 with more than $1.1 million in guarantees, followed by DeepStack Extravaganza III in September, continuing the same rotation of DeepStack-branded series the room runs year-round.

A Brief History of the Series

Poker at The Venetian’s DeepStack format traces back to 2007, when the room launched the original DeepStack Extravaganza at the request of players who wanted better structures and more starting chips than the standard Vegas grind offered. That format proved popular enough that it now anchors a full annual calendar: DeepStack Extravaganza NYE, DeepStack Showdown (Jan/Feb), DeepStack Extravaganza I, DeepStack Showdown (March), DeepStack Extravaganza II, the summer DeepStack Championship, DeepStack Showdown (August), and DeepStack Extravaganza III and IV, a rolling sequence of series that keeps the room running high-value tournaments essentially year-round.

The summer DeepStack Championship has grown into the largest of these by a wide margin. The 2025 edition ran 116 events and awarded nearly $30 million across the summer; the 2026 edition expanded to 121 events with a $16 million guarantee floor, timed once again to run alongside the WSOP so traveling players can work both series into a single Vegas trip.
